Traditionally, great ways to wear brogues are with trousers to the office or any business occasion, a la Katherine Hepburn, who was a brogue style pioneer. British supermodel Aggy resurrected them.

It is all about the contrast! A boho summer dress and blazer/cardigan or up jeans and a simple oversized tee look the best with brogues.

They can be worn with a flowing floral skirt for a more relaxed look, or with pants, often rolled up with edgy abandon.

Like ballet flats, brogues generally look best with bare legs or at least a little ankle or calf showing. Baring your ankles in brogues keeps the look a little more feminine.

When winter sets in, pair your brogues with winter shorts or a skirt and tights in the same shade as your brogues (it will give the illusion of longer legs!).

Go for brogues in classic colours. Black and brown are traditional, but grey will also be great for winter. To elongate legs, opt for a nude shoe (this works best in warmer weather, without stockings or tights).

Basic brown and black too boring for you? Look for block brights, pretty pastels and classy detailing, even metallics!

If they’re still a bit too mannish for you, look out for brogues in pretty feminine prints. The floral ones look so vintage, especially with the cream lace tights, and would look amazing worn with clashing floral dresses.

So take your pick, pair with your favorite skirt and you might just look like Olivia Palermo!

The best way to get started is to pull out all of your jewelry and start playing around with different combinations. Experiment with different necklines on your tops.

With a basic tee- Don’t you love what a great necklace can do to a basic tee. Give it a personality by adding a bright necklace, preferably in a contrasting color. Long and delicate necklaces are perfect too. Similar patterns and metals create a cohesive look.

Play with layers: Make your classics fun by pairing layers with edgy pieces. Wear a layered necklace with striped shirts, denim jacket or leather jacket.

With a Cardigan : A longish necklace with a cardigan not only looks great, it will also make you look taller. Layered necklaces are great ways to add sparkle to a cardigan.

With a V-neck: Both long “Y” shaped necklaces and short necklaces look great with V neck tops

Chambray denim: Chunky necklace + denim shirt + jacket. Perfect!!!

With a monochromatic outfit: Add jazz to any monochromatic or solid color outfit by pairing with colourful or metallic layered necklaces.

How to layer:

As effortless as it may look, layering necklaces can be challenging at times. It’s much easier to buy an already layered necklace, but the possibilities of layering your own individual pieces are endless.

Layer pearls with chains, charms, feathers, beads, stones or even more pearls, it will look classy. Don’t be afraid to put together a showstopper combo in classic materials such as pearls. Layer statement necklaces with coordinating simple charms in similar shades.

Our favorite type is layering mix and match pieces. Make sure that the middle or second layer is the one that makes the biggest statement. You don’t need to match your metals or styles. Chains are popular right now. Add a rhinestone necklace with the chains for a more dramatic look.

Keep a simplistic neckline (sans the rouching or ruffles) if you plan on having your necklace as the focal point of your outfit. Go with a simple necklace if you are wearing a super busy or patterned top.

Don’t wear anything that’s going to make you uncomfortable. Your accessories should say something about YOUR personality. The way you pair these pieces with your wardrobe makes it unique to YOU. Get creative and explore your style!

If you’re feeling fearful about how to pull it off, there are a few tips to keep in mind. Start by keeping things solid up top, with a solid tee or a denim shirt. Go easy on the accessories!

Think about your body. If you’re petite, you’ll want to go with a smaller pattern; if you’re tall, you can get away with a bolder, large-scale design. Either way, pick a color combo that can easily blend into your current wardrobe.

Here are the top ten ways to wear floral pants :

1) Edgy- Floral pants don’t have to be all sweetness; you can edge them up with a cheeky tee, printed heels, and a spike necklace. Extra points if you throw on a leather jacket.

2) Matching- An easy way to coordinate your outfit is to pick one or two colors from the prints and match your top, outerwear and accessories accordingly.

3) To work- Shake up your work wear with a pair of cheery floral trousers. Keep things streamlined and office-appropriate with a black blazer, leather pumps, and a chic statement necklace.

Caviar manicure- Eating caviar may not be for everyone, but caviar nail art can work for even the most conservative of all. Preppy clothing is bright, bold, and uber neat. Burn your t-shirts, and baggy jeans, preps like fitting and expensive (looking) clothes. Loosening your tie and adding sneakers looks spontaneous.

Ditch the cargo pants. Instead, try some well-cut khakis in a light color.

Solids and stripes are a safe bet, if you feel like being bold, try checks or plaid. Whatever you do, leave the collar down; a polo with a popped collar isn’t preppy, its pretentious.

Wear leather moccasins and boat shoes (top-siders) or leather flip flops in the summer. Wearing a pair of top-siders without socks is classic preppy.

For workday preppy, contrast-collar shirts make for an interesting change. Dress it up with a striped tie, corduroys, v neck sweater and penny loafers or two-tone brougues. A slim-fit, slim-lapel, two button jacket with houndstooth checks is vintage preppy. The navy blazer is a staple; you can try Madras plaid, tweed or corduroy as options. Brass buttons instantly identify a blazer as preppy.

For the weekend, a checked shirt in cotton and monochromatic polos with distressed jeans is great for when you’re stepping out. Khaki is the preppy equivalent of jeans – you can’t go wrong. Invest in a pair of lazy loafers to complete your summer look. Get a pair of white shorts, which can be rolled up above the knee for that extra element of style.

A clean shave is a must. No facial hair, whatsoever! Keep your hair simple. A common preppy hairstyle is the shaggy or fluffy look, or hair just parted on the side and short. Keep your hair looking natural.

Keep your lips moisturized. Chapped, cracked lips are unsightly. Always smell fresh, make sure your scent isn’t overpowering.

Don’t forget to accessorize with rimless glasses, striped belts, messenger bag and a cool watch.

But the trick is all in the mix. Like all trends, this one too comes with its set of rules, follow them and you are ready to dive into the jean-pool!

The key rule is to combine pieces in different colors and washes. Don’t wear the same color denim top to bottom. Pair a medium wash shirt with a jean that’s a shade or two darker. Ashley Greene was spotted sporting this double denim style. She mixed her light shaded denim shirt with deep colored skinny jeans for that perfect look and finished her look with flats and a Chloe handbag (we love!).

You can even wear a denim shirt/jacket with black or white denim skinnies.

Nothing defines hot summer like a good pair of jean cutoffs. Redefine the wardrobe staple by adding denim up top, preferably with a chambray button-down. Keep it simple by avoiding tie- dyed, acid –washed or printed denim.

If you don’t want to wear a denim top and jeans, try pairing denim jeans with a denim handbag. Denim is a great balance for those loud prints you have but don’t know how to wear. Try pairing your denim look with a busy floral piece or bright stripes.

Accesorise with a pair of leather platform sandals, suede or leather belt a messenger bag, and you are good to go!

You can even break up the denim with a slew of metallic chains ala Cameron Diaz and Ashley Tisdale.

It is the remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu. This is for the first time that these two actors are getting paired together.

Sonakshi Sinha looked exotic, dressed in character in floral top and coral red harem pants at the launch of the theatrical trailer of Rowdy Rathore. She was accompanied to the event by co-star Akshay Kumar, who was also dressed in character, sporting thick upturned mustache,tee topped with button down shirt and dark sunglasses.
