Makeup Tips – Tips on the Application of Lipliner

Red lip liner is the hardest to apply. Until you get the hang of it, try shades of lip liner and lipstick that are close to your natural color of lips. This will block many mistakes.

Lip liners should coordinate with your lipstick color. Try to buy them together when possible.

It is easier to apply lip liner when the tip of the pencil is not too sharp. You can dull it slightly by running it across a tissue.

Some lip liners are creamier than others. Usually the twist up pencils are creamier than the pencils you can sharpen. Try different kinds to see what you like best.

Quality is important. If you have bad luck with application, try another brand.

Visit the makeup counter in your local department store and ask for assistance while buying lipstick and liner. Don’t let them force you into the new seasonal colors if they are too bold, trendy or too light for your lip tone. Explain that you are new to lip liner and try some out while you are there.

If you notice your lip liner last longer than your lipstick you can try applying your liner as a base of your lipstick. They will fade at the same time.

Lip liner that is applied too heavily can give a sloppy appearance.

Lip liner will melt when exposed to heat. Treat it as you would a eye liner or lipstick.

Wooden pencils that become dull can scratch your lips. Keep a sharpener handy.

For longer-lasting lip color, shade both lips with lip liner after defining them. As lipstick fades throughout the day, the liner offers a hint of color before you have a chance to reapply.

Balance heavy eye makeup with a soft lip color. Wear a rich and boldly colored lipstick to complement soft eye makeup.

Chill lip liner for easier sharpening.

When you have to consider both: The Lipliner and Lipstick:

1 Consider your lipstick color and finish. You’ll do well with colors that match the natural shade of your lips, opting for darker tones that complement your overall coloring. Matte lipsticks offer a muted finish complementary to workday makeup, while satin and gloss finishes offer appealing evening looks.

2 Apply all other makeup before putting on lipstick and lip liner.

3 Begin by dabbing on a very small amount of lip balm or petroleum jelly to give your lips a little moisture.

4 Draw a thin line along the edge of your lips with a lip liner whose color is one shade darker than your lipstick. Start at the center of the upper lip and work outward. Hug the very outer edges to open up thin lips, and line well within the edges to downplay excessively full lips.

5 Apply lipstick from the tube or by using a firm, small lipstick brush. Coat the lips evenly. Pay special attention to staying within the lips’ edges.

6 Blot to remove any excess color and to even out the texture.

7 Remember to touch lips up after a meal, as lipstick easily transfers onto coffee cups, water bottles and soda cans.

Makeup Basics-Application of Lipliner

Applying lip liner correctly can be a challenge for the most loyal makeup user. Done correctly it can increase the wear of your lipstick, prevent color feathering, prevent color bleeding, provide more definition to your lips, enhance or hide lip features and make you look stunning.

As the name suggests, lip liner is meant to create a line, a border for the lips. Many a time, you must have experienced smudging and spreading of lipstick above and below your lips. It becomes a difficult task to rub off the extra lipstick especially, when you are done with your whole makeup! You must have also faced the problem of lipstick fading on the wrong time, i.e., when the party is in full swing! Lip liner is a remedy to all these problems. Lip liner is nothing but a type of colored cosmetic pencil, which comes with or without a sharpener! Lip liner gives an outline to your lips, which prevent the lipstick from bleeding. Lip liner also helps to keep the lipstick on the lips for a longer time. Besides all these uses, the main advantage of lip liner is that it gives the lips a concrete shape, which makes them stand out and look full.

1 Start by practicing with a shade of lip liner that is close to the shade of lip stick.

2 Beginners should practice with more natural/neutral colors that won’t show mistakes as well.

3 Make sure your lips are clean of lip balms and other oil based products.

4 Make a dot along the lip line at the center of your upper lip.

5 Make more dots on the raised sections of each side of your lips.

6 Make 2-3 dots along the lip line across the bottom of your lower lip.

7 Using a VERY light hand, slowly start connecting the dots trying not to make the lines appear to straight. Follow the lip line to the edge but don’t apply as heavy a line at the edge or fade the lip liner as you get closer.

8 If you have some spaces that need to be filled in, go back and gently add more color.

9 Use your finger or the edge of a make up sponge or a Q-tip to wipe away anything outside the natural lip line.

10 Once your lips are lined, apply a lip stick that is close to the same color and shade as your lip liner.

11 You can use a lip brush to blend the lip stick closer to the lip liner to avoid a harsh line.

Makeup Basics – Application of Mascara

Today, we’ll talk about the application and Mascara and I will tell you the best tricks on how to apply mascara so that your eyes can look great and so that you can dazzle everyone with your beautiful look!

The first thing you need to do if you want to apply mascara with precision is to get a hand mirror so that you can look at what you are doing closely. If you do it like this you can see your eyelashes very well and making the application of the mascara more precise and on the entire lash. If you do it this way you get the longest and thickest lashes.

You should look down into the mirror so you can see your whole eyelashes, if you look straight into the hand mirror then you don’t see the complete lashes. So remember, look down into the hand mirror for the best visibility.

TIPS TO APPLY MASCARA

Before you apply the mascara you should have been finished with your eyeshadow and other makeup around the eyes.

The next step in applying mascara is to use an eyelash curler on your upper lashes. When you use the curler it should be fitted at the bottom of the eyelash so that you take it all in the curler. This is an optional step but this way you can achieve an extra long effect with your lashes. To ensure a natural look you have to apply the mascara as close to the skin as possible so that the shape looks natural.

Now you can comb your lashes so that they are all separated. It is best to do this before they dry than after they dry.

You can make your eyelashes longer if you apply another coat on the tips of your lashes after the first mascara coat has dried.

While you are applying the mascara you should always apply it from the inside out and by not missing any of them.

To eliminate clumping you should apply the mascara in one stroke on the whole length of the lashes guaranteeing that you have full and long eyelashes.

If you want to apply another coat of mascara you should not let it dry completely or it will start flaking off.

Applying mascara on the bottom lashes is optional and here you should apply it on the opposite way as on the top, from the outside to the inside. The bottom lashes should be more subtle so don’t overdo it and don’t put mascara on all the lashes.

If you want a natural look you can use clear mascara and then comb them with your eyebrow brush.

If you want to achieve really think eyelashes then coat your upper lashes and your lower lashes with clear mascara, comb, and then coat them both with black mascara.

After your night out you should remember to remove your makeup including your mascara. If you applied a lot of mascara you can have problems by sleeping with it, causing an eye infection, swollen and red eyes and it won’t be a pretty sight when you wake up with raccoon eyes.

Makeup Basics – Application of Eyeliner

Eyeliner is the most important part of your eye makeup and here we will talk about the best tips on how to apply eyeliner so that you can look great for each occasion and for each look.

Makeup Basics - Application of Eyeliner

Makeup Basics - Application of Eyeliner

First of all you need to know how you want to look like. You can apply eyeliner in various different ways, you can get a natural look for daily use or a more dramatic look for special occasions. You have to decide what style you are aiming for, before you start your makeup.

After knowing what kind of look you want you can pick your eyeliner color. You have to choose a color that fits your eye color or a more plain color for a casual look. You can try a green tone for casual and daily use, another alternative is brown. If you want a more dramatic look for the evening you can use a bright green to make your green eyes stand out or an aqua blue shade to make your blue eyes stand out. The standard black is always a good choice for every eye color.

Eyeliners are available in different types ranging from eyeliner pencils, liquid pens, or in cake form. If you are starting out with makeup you should start with an eyeliner pencil or a liquid eyeliner because they are very easy to use. The eyeliners in cake have to be moist when you use them, you do this by putting a few drops of water on your brush and then applying it to the cake. You can have different color intensities if you put more water on it.

The next step is to prepare your eyeliner before you use it. Most of the eyeliners are easy to use and low maintenance. A pencil eyeliner should be sharpened every time you use it so that you have precision to draw and for hygiene purposes. After your eyeliner pencil is sharpened you can warm it up a little with hair dryer or warm it up between your fingers. By doing this the application can be more easier. If you have a liquid eyeliner then you should read its instructions that are printed on the label.

When applying eyeliner you should always start with the upper lid. If you are using a hand mirror you should look down into it and if you are doing it in front of the mirror you can tilt your head backwards. You have to do this so that you can look at the whole eyelid from an angle and not only from the front.

The next step is to apply the eyeliner from the inside of the eyes and then go outwards. You have to draw the line as close as possible to the eyelashes or lashline and you can rest your hand on your cheek so you don’t shake and have a steady hand.

Afterwards you can draw eyeliner on the bottom eyelid. This time you do it the other way around, you go from the outer corner to the inner corner of the eye. Always draw the line as close as possible to the eyelashes. You don’t need to make the line through the whole eyelid, three quarters is enough.

Now you have to wait for the eyeliner to dry for about half to a full minute. This is very important if you are using liquid eyeliner.

To make the effect a bit more smokey you can smudge the eyeliner a little to make the line look softer. You can do this by running a Q-tip gently on the line until you reach the wanted result.

As you can see it is not that hard to know how to apply eyeliner in a professional and cool looking way!

Makeup Tips – Tips for Beautiful Lips

Kissable Lips!

No matter how beautiful your lips may be, but if they are parched and flaky, they look unattractive and ruin the whole effect. It gets extremely difficult to wear lipsticks or glosses of your choice as the problem becomes more apparent. Special care and maintenance is required for the lips as they do not have pores and have only 3 to 5 cellular layers as compared to the skin on the face, which has 16 layers. The lips do not have usual protection layer of sweat or body oils, hence they get drier.

Makeup Tips - Tips for Beautiful Lips

Makeup Tips - Tips for Beautiful Lips

Here are certain tips to keep dry lips at bay, so that you can always have the perfect pout and are always kiss ready.

  • Have plenty of fluids to keep your lips hydrated and in general good health.
  • Use lip balms with SPF for better protection.
  • Do not use cheap products as they may have drying agents.
  • Exfoliate regularly for healthy and smooth lips.

Ways to Exfoliate –

  • Apply some petroleum jelly on you lips. Make sure you use a generous amount. Keep it on for about 15 minutes. Take a wet towel and wipe it all off gently. The texture of the towel is such that it will remove the dead skin from your lips without harming your lips.
  • Another way is to use a soft toothbrush. Apply the petroleum jelly and keep it on for sometime. Then take a soft toothbrush and scrub off the dead skin. You might notice some redness and that your lips are a bit fuller. This is because of the increased blood circulation to the lips.
  • After a hot shower, the dead skin on the lips gets loose. You could also use your fingers to exfoliate.

Try these methods on and you will surely notice a remarkable difference.

Make sure to always keep your lips moisturized after you have exfoliated.

We hope that the information will be useful to you.

  • When using powder eyeshadow, you can dampen the brush with water to add extra vibrancy.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF EYESHADOW

Makeup Basics - Different Types of Eyeshadow

Makeup Basics - Different Types of Eyeshadow

POWDER EYESHADOW

1 Use primer on your eyelids. Use eyeshadow primer, or a dab of liquid foundation or concealer. This step will help keep your eyeshadow vibrant on your eyelids, and does not fade as the day goes on. Apply your primer with either a makeup sponge or clean fingers. Blend it from your lash line into your brow bone.

2 Add a neutral color first, such as peach, beige or light brown. Apply only to lid.

3 Apply a slightly darker color to the crease. Keep it on your crease, and don’t extend it upward. For a more bold look, use bolder colors. Make sure the colors go well with your eye color.

4 Apply your other eye makeup. Take care not to get mascara or eyeliner on your eyeshadow. If this does happen, a dry cotton swab placed on the spot and gently twisted should remove the makeup with minimal eyeshadow smudging.

Makeup Basics - Different Types of Eyeshadow

Makeup Basics - Different Types of Eyeshadow

CREAM EYESHADOW

1 Use primer on to your eyelids as previously mentioned.

2 Rub your fingertip or a makeup sponge in the cream shadow. Gently dab the cream onto your eyelid, and blend it evenly. Avoid having deposits of color all over your lid by using your ring finger to gently dispense the color evenly.

3 Dust translucent powder or matching eyeshadow color on top. This sets the cream to prevent it from sliding off your eyelids. Using a larger, looser brush than a regular eyeshadow brush will prevent color ‘deposits’ by evenly dusting the powder across the lids.

4 Apply your other makeup. Continue to avoid getting mascara or eyeliner dots on the eyeshadow. Use a cotton swab to remove any marks, and be sure to re-blend the color to avoid unevenness in color coverage.
